Schools Information

The UK cast metals industry, like the rest of the engineering industry, is always on the look out for recruits at every level and with the UK and global foundry industry both growing, now is a great time to consider this area of engineering for a career.

Offering training and development the industry needs enthusiastic and capable people to work on the shop floor right through to top management. This choice of career offers many opportunities and is full of challenges, problem solving, technology, design and interesting and varied activities.

The industry has developed special training schemes at every level of the NVQ system, Modern Apprenticeships and now also a Degree course.

A scheme is being set up to partner interested schools with participating foundries, to encourage school visits, events and workshops either by visiting a local foundry to see the cast metals industry in action or to invite a team in to the school to talk about the benefits of a career in engineering in general and the cast metals industry in particular.
